Loch Arbour Village
Village of Loch Arbour Located on Deal Lake between Allenhurst and Asbury Park, Loch Arbour was part of Ocean Township until 1957. At only two blocks wide and five blocks long, Loch Arbour is the smallest town in Monmouth County, and the only “village”. The small tract of land that makes up Loch Arbour was from Ocean Township in 1820. Thomas White owned the land. He'd purchased it from one of the founders of Monmouth County, Jacob Corlies. Although it appears on some early maps, Loch Arbour was not incorporated until 1957. The name “Loch Arbour” comes from “Loch” meaning “Lake” and “Arbour” meaning “Trees”. This is a fitting name for this tiny town on Deal Lake – its streets are lined with beautiful trees and spectacular Victorian beach houses.
